Marisa Robinson Beauty Blogger Harvest Garden Skincare Review and First Impressions

I always enjoy discovering new Australian natural skincare ranges. Not only is it giving your skin minerals and nutrients without any nasties but I truly believe in supporting local businesses for food and produce so beauty and skincare is no exception.

When I was introduced to The Harvest Garden I immediately jumped on their website to see what they had to offer! From handmade soaps, to body scrubs and clay face masks they had all bases covered using natural, certified organic ingredients, two big ticks knowing you're giving your skin the very best!

I was kindly sent the Coconut Body Polish and Zeolite and Pink Clay Facial Masque to try and in this post I will share my thoughts and first impressions!

BENEFITS
Epsom salt replenishes the body's magnesium levels and sulfates. Magnesium and sulfate are both readily absorbed through the skin and into the body's blood stream. Coconut oil is very good at hydrating our skin. It naturally clears away dirt, grime and dead skin cells. It even has antibacterial properties, killing off harmful bacteria. Rosehip provides a mild, natural exfoliation.  Pomegranate extract contains antioxidant, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties and ability to encourage radiant skin. Helps combat breakouts, reduce scarring and sooth minor irritations.

MY THOUGHTS AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS
As directed I took a small amount of scrub from the sachet into my hand and massaged it onto my skin in circular motions while in the shower. I did this on my whole body leaving it for a few minutes before rinsing off.

As soon as the scrub was in my hand I was greeted with a beautiful, sweet yet fresh scent which smelt lovely and not too strong. Then as I worked the scrub into my skin the salts and pomegranate lathered up and left my skin feeling soft and smooth. The scrub also contains coconut oil but it was just the right amount that hydrated my skin without leaving it feeling like I had a layer of oil over my body, something I don't particularly like in coconut oil body scrubs I've used in the past.

I will definitely be using this scrub on the regular to keep my skin silky smooth!

Zeolite & Pink Clay Facial Masque with Pomegranate & Passionflower

Next on the menu was the clay face mask! My mother in law and I decided to have a face mask sesh over the holidays to relax and unwind so we were excited to see and feel the results!

Before I share my first impressions here is some info straight from the Harvest Garden website:
Healing clays have been used by cultures throughout history for their nutrients and to help rid the body of toxins. Clay is a natural gift from mother earth that draws out impurities and toxins with its naturally absorptive abilities.

INGREDIENTS
Zeolite Clay, Australian Pink Clay, Pomegranate extract and Passionflower extract.

BENEFITS
Zeolite Clay is a negatively charged volcanic ash. Traps heavy metals and toxins.
Australian Pink clay balances stressed and sensitive skin and creates a youthful appearance. Also helps refine delicate lines and texture of skin. Pomegranate extract contains antioxidant, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties and ability to encourage radiant skin. Helps combat breakouts, reduce scarring and sooth minor irritations. Passionflower has been used for centuries as a skin beautifying agent, since they contain agents that unclog the pores of the skin. One of the best natural acne remedies and effective for destroying bacteria and fungi on the surface of the skin.

MY THOUGHTS AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS
While the mask comes in powder form it is very easy to mix and apply. Mix 1 teaspoon of the mask to 1 teaspoon of water in a small bowl. One bottle should provide 16 applications or 4 months of use but I think it will last me much longer!

You can substitute the water for other liquids such as aloe vera juice, honey or tea tree oil depending on what results you're wanting to achieve or your skins concerns.

When the water is added to the clay mask powder it creates a watery like formula which you then paint onto the face in thin layers with the included brush, being careful to avoid the eyes and mouth. It goes on smooth and dark but as the mask drys the colour gets lighter and your skin feels tighter, but not too tight like the life is being sucked out of your face.

We set the timer for 15 minutes (as the back of the bottle recommends) and let the mask work it's magic! It does state to remove before it hardens and the website recommends leaving it for 5-10 minutes. We both felt the mask was completely dry at 10 minute but you will definitely feel when it is ready to rinse off.

To remove we used a warm washcloth which simply wipes the mask away. It only took 3 good wipes and it was completely removed. Pat the face down with a towel to dry and spritz with your favourite facial mist or apply moisturiser.

Our skin instantly felt smooth, soft and supple and we will both be adding this to our weekly skincare routine! I am also going to experiment more with the clay mask and mix it with tea tree oil to use as a spot treatment!
