Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder Review and Before & Afters
Brows are an essential part of any makeup look. They frame your whole face and instantly take your look from zero to one hundred! So when I was recently sent the new Rimmel London Brow Shake Filling Powder I couldn't wait to put it to the test.
In this blog post I will my thoughts, first impressions and before & after shots but before I do here is some information straight from Rimmel:
The Eyebrow Expert, Rimmel has created a super-soft powder that fills in any sparse areas on your brows. Using the soft and narrow padded applicator, it’s easy to precisely fill, shape and define your brow-look – be as bold as you dare. Unlike some brow products, there’s no heavy feeling and no smudging. With a choice of four suit-all shades, the intense, stay-true colour goes on evenly and builds up easily so you can go from day-time casual to night-time drama in mere moments.
REVIEW + FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I used the Rimmel Brow Shake Powder in Dark Brown (003) for my latest makeup look and I was so impressed! You unscrew the lid to reveal a built-in soft padded applicator which the powder adheres to before you apply it to your brows.
This is a powder formula, not fibres like other brow products and it is really pigmented! A little bit definitely goes a long way so before you apply it to your brows tap any excess off the applicator and then start at the centre of your brows where you want the most coverage and colour.
Working with a light hand create small hair-like strokes through your brows to get the coverage and shape you desire. Because my brows are quite sparse I went back and forward to really fill them in before creating the shape. For the tail of my brow I used an angle brush and picked up some powder off the applicator to create a defined, sharp tail. For the centre of my brows I used the applicator but I wiped any excess off onto a tissue so I was applying as little product as possible to create a lighter, faded out finish.
The result is full, fabulous brows on fleek! I love the coverage, the powder definitely makes it buildable and you have a lot of control with the built-in applicator. I have dark brown hair so I used the dark brown shade but I think I might be the shade between dark brown and black which doesn't actually exist so I might try mixing them together to create my perfect shade. But all in all I really love this product, it was very easy to apply and if you have barely there brows like me it will give them new life!
Below are some before and after shots so you can see me makeup free (on the left) and with a full face and brows using the Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder (on the right).
I like a quite angular brow so I use an angle brush to create a sharp, defined tail.
The Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder is available now in store and online from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Big W and your local Woolworths and Coles supermarkets.
