Happy St Patrick's Day!

To celebrate I have created a fun makeup look using traditional Irish colours with a sparkle of glitter.

BASE PREP
Hydrate the skin using M.A.C Prep + Prime Fix+ and then apply Too Faced Primed and Poreless Primer to the entire face to create a smooth base and to reduce any visible pores. Prep the lips using a lip scrub and balm to make them soft and smooth.

Because we are working with Glitter which can get a little messy I am going to do my eye makeup first. That way if there is any fall out we can clean it up before creating a flawless base.

BROWS
Shape and feather the brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in 'Medium Brown' and with an angle brush fill in using the Taupe shadow form the Bobbi Brown Brow Kit. Lightly apply the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel to hold any natural brow hairs in place.

To define the brows and brow bone take the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer on an angled concealer brush and lightly apply under the brows and blend out.

EYES
Apply Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer on the eyelids to create a smooth base.

With a fluffy blending brush apply a light green shadow (I used 'Vinyl' from the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Eyeshadow Palette) into the crease to create a transition shade. Then get a flat brush and pack on a dark green shadow to the mobile lid (I used 'Misfit') and a darker green to the outer corner (I used 'Lemmy'). Then with a clean fluffy brush lightly blend in the crease to blend the three shades together.

For the lower lash line take a pencil brush and apply a dark green shadow (I used 'Lemmy') starting from the outer corner and bringing it 1/3 along. Then on the same brush pick up the lighter green shade (I used 'Vinyl') and take it from the middle to the inner corner. Then with a clean fluffy brush, smoke it out removing any harsh lines.

Now comes the fun part: Glitter! I created a green winged liner using Eye Kandy Glitter in 'Sour Berry'. The trick to applying the glitter is Liquid Sugar. This is a must for an artists kit especially if you plan on doing editorial looks or face painting as it is a water based sealer that bonds glitter and metallic’s to your eyelids, lips or any other skin surface.

Pour a small drop of Liquid Sugar onto a disposable liner applicator and pick up a small amount of the green glitter. Then apply it along the upper lash line, taking it to the inner corner and creating a wing in the outer corner. Then do the same for the lower lash line (under the lashes) connecting the bottom glitter eye line with the top glitter eye line at the outer corner. Working with small amounts will reduce fall out and will make it easier to control. Continue doing this until you get the desired coverage and look you like. For any glitter fall out on the face, get a clean powder brush and dust it off.

BASE
Dot Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation to the face and blend in with a damp Beauty Blender.

Conceal under the eyes and using the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer and blend out with a damp Beauty Blender. Set both the eyes and face using Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder.

Contour the face using 'Sombre' from the Kat Von D's Shade + Light Contour Palette and add some colour to the cheeks with Too Faced Pink Leopard Blushing Bronzer

Using a fan brush highlight the tops of the cheekbones, cupids bow and brow bone with 'Crushed Pearl' from the Anastasia Beverly Hills 'Gleam' Glow Palette.

LASHES
Coat the lashes with Milani Lash Trifecta Lengthens + Curls + Separates Mascara.

LIPS
Line and fill the lips using the Too Faced Perfect Lips Lip Liner in 'Nude' and coat the lips with an orange lipstick (I used MAC Cosmetics Giambattista Valli Lipstick in 'Matte Margherita'). Then to add some shine apply an orange or peach gloss (I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in 'Sunset Strip').
