I slayed September in these amazing makeup and hair products!
Estée Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick Foundation*
I am always on the hunt for new foundations so I was super excited to be gifted the new Estée Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick to try. As the name suggests the foundation comes in a stick with a sponge cushion applicator at one end and a twist base at the other. The idea behind the design is that it is a foundation and applicator in one with the cushion sponge used to apply, buff and blend the foundation onto the skin. I tried this application method originally but I personally found buffing the foundation into my skin with the cushion sponge a little tricky so I grabbed a damp beautyblender and that did the trick. I really love the formula of this foundation, the coverage and the way it sits on my skin. I start by dotting it over the face, blending it out and then adding a couple more dots to any problem areas to build up the coverage. I use shade 2C2 Pale Almond which suited my skin tone perfectly and it lasted all day. I will definitely be using this on the daily for a nice, natural look.
Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Créme
For ultimate coverage look no further than the Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Créme. I tried this concealer earlier this year at the Sephora Showcase and was instantly obsessed so as soon as they were on the KVD website I put them in my cart and made them mine! Out of the 21 shades, including the first ever white concealer, I purchased shades L9 Neutral and L13 Cool. I find L9 a bit light for my skin tone but it is the perfect shade for highlighting under my eyes and on the bridge of my nose. L13 on the other hand is the perfect shade for me and covers every dark circle, blemish and spot, leaving my skin absolutely flawless. The angled doe foot applicator is the perfect shape and ensures a precise and smooth application.
Rimmel London by Kate 15th Anniversary Lipstick - #54 Rock n Roll Nude*
I am a huge fan of Rimmel by Kate lipsticks and their latest 15th Anniversary Collection is just as fabulous! The range has 6 colours in nude and red shades, each inspired by Kate's iconic London Looks. Check out my latest blog post for swatches and my first impressions. But with all collections I always seem to have a favourite and in this case it is #54 Rock n Roll Nude. I am obsessed with this perfect pinky, nude shade and its creamy formula glides beautifully onto my lips. The lipsticks also have a really nice scent, are long lasting and for only $13.95 you are definitely getting great value for money.
Tarte 'Tartelette' Eyeshadow Palette
My name is Marisa and I am addicted to eyeshadow palettes! I have quite a big collection but I always felt like there was one missing and that was an all matte eyeshadow palette. Until the Tartelette palette came along! Filled with 12 Amazonian clay shades, I have been loving this palette for myself and my clients and find the shadows perfectly pigmented and blend beautifully. My favourite shades in this palette would have to be 'Natural Beauty' a lovely mauve which is gorgeous in the crease, 'Best Friend' which is a mulberry shadow that looks great in the outer V and 'Super Mom' which is an ivory shade ideal as an eyeshadow base.
Makeup Geek x Kathleen Lights Highlighter Palette
Kathleen Lights is one of my favourite beauty YouTubers so I was extremely excited for her recent collaboration with one of my favourite makeup brands, Makeup Geek! This limited edition palette is the first range of highlighters M.U.G has released (but I believe they will have individual highlighter pans coming very soon!) and because of the amazing quality of their eyeshadows I had high hopes for this palette and I am happy to report it did not disappoint! The palette contains 3 shades: Nightlight (light gold with a reflective luminous finish), Starlight (rosy pink with a reflective luminous finish) and Sunlight (soft copper with a reflective luminous finish) which are perfect for all skin tones. The formula is so creamy and I love layering each shade to create a beautiful golden glow on my cheeks and high points of my face. Each pan is 5cm x 5cm which is quite a generous size and I am hoping they will last me awhile, but the way I have been using them lately, I doubt it!
Keune BLEND Volume Powder*
One thing I have always struggled with with my hair is that it doesn't have a lot of body and is quite flat. But all of my prayers have been answered thanks to the Keune BLEND Volume Powder. SImply sprinkle a small amount of powder onto your roots, work it in with your fingers to activate and get instant volume and texture! The powder also makes styling easy and gives me so much more control to create my favourite looks.
